Britney Spears Tops Album Chart; Jennifer Hudson Stays in 10

,

Britney Spears' Femme Fatale made a killing during its first week out, selling 276,000 copies and topping The Billboard 200. Femme Fatale gives Spears the sixth No. 1 debut of her career, though the album's first-week tally falls far short of 2008's Circus, which made its bow with 505,00 sales.

American Idol alum Jennifer Hudson stayed in the Top 10 after debuting at No. 2 last week. Her I Remember Me sold 56,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, falling to No. 7 on the Billboard chart.

Numbers for the rest of the Top 10 follow.

Wiz Khalifa, Rolling Papers (197,000, debut)
Adele, 21 (94,000 weekly, -2%, 942,000 total)
Chris Brown, F.A.M.E. (91,000, -66%, 362,000)
Various, Songs for Japan (71,000, +5%, 139,000)
Radiohead, King of Limbs (69,000, debut)
Snoop Dogg, Doggumentary (50,000, debut)
Kirk Franklin, Hello Fear (46,000, -47%, 121,000)
Mary Mary, Something Big (42,000, debut)

Two American Idol champs saw big boosts in their weekly sales totals after high-profile TV appearances -- Fantasia on Idol and Carrie Underwood on the Academy of Country Music Awards -- allowing both of them to re-enter The Billboard 200. Crystal Bowersox hung in on the chart, too, coming in at No. 200.
